We planned to post this update on Friday night, obviously that didn't happen. As every exciting trip has its unique surprises, this one has been no exception to the rule. We had a wonderful ride up, and we made good time. The students began to get excited as we saw scattered patches of snow here and there. As we got closer to Boone the snow was everywhere and the views were spectacular. We had dinner, picked up our ski gear, and headed to the hotel for what we hoped would be a little free time for the students and some relaxation for the chaperones. However, plans soon changed as Alana and I headed to the Emergency room to get Sean Pratt stitched up. He was having some fun with the snow and took a little spill that cost him three stitches in the chin. Welcome to the Scar Face club Sean, you're in good company with yours truly! He is fine now and has an interesting story to tell his friends back home.
Today was a blast, the weather was cold with a few snow flurries. The students had a wonderful time learning to ski and snowboard. We had great fellowship and made some good memories. I think that many of them are excited to hit the slopes tomorrow with some experience under their belts. We concluded the day with an energetic time of worship, and the students were challenged to be born again in Christ.
We will post again tomorrow night barring no more unexpected events. Off to get some much needed rest.
